Endodontics - Root Canals
Endodontics-The branch of dentistry concerned with the morphology, physiology, and pathology of the human dental pulp and the periradicular tissues. Its study and practice include the basic clinical sciences, which encompasses the biology of the normal pulp, the causes, diagnosis, prevention, and treatments of diseases and injuries of the pulp and related radicular conditions.

Oral Pathology - Biopsy
An oral pathologist represents the confluence of the basic sciences and clinical dentistry. Through the science of oral pathology, an attempt is made to correlate human biology with the signs and symptoms of human disease. The oral pathologist attempts to understand oral disease so that it can be properly diagnosed and adequately treated.

Oral Surgery - Extractions
Oral and maxillofacial surgery is the specialty of dental practice that deals with the diagnosis and surgical treatment of diseases, injuries and defects of the mouth, jaws, face and related structures. This includes the removal of impacted and decayed teeth, placement of dental implants, biopsy and removal of cysts and tumors of the mouth and jaws, treatment of facial trauma and reconstructive jaw surgery.

Orthodontics - Braces
Orthodontics is the branch of dentistry that specializes in the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of dental and facial irregularities.  The practice of orthodontics requires professional skill in the design, application and control of corrective appliances (braces) to bring teeth, lips and jaws into proper alignment and to achieve facial balance.

Pediatric Dentistry - Children
The pediatric dentist is the specialist who is dedicated to the oral health of children from infancy through the teenage years. The very young, pre-teens, and teenagers all need different approaches in dealing with their behavior, guiding their dental growth and development, and helping them avoid future dental problems. Pediatric dentists also have special training, that allows them to treat patients that have emotional, physical, or mental handicaps.

Periodontics - Gum Disease
A periodontist is a dentist who specializes in the care and treatment of the periodontium or gum tissue.

Prosthodontics - Dentures/Crowns
Prosthodontists are specialists in the area of restoration and replacement of teeth and oral structures. This includes such services as cosmetic bonding and veneers, crowns, fixed and removable bridges, implant retained crowns/partials/dentures and conventional complete dentures. Other problems patients have that are treated are TMJ/pain disorders, snoring and sleep apnea, occlusion (bite) disorders, and full mouth reconstruction/rehabilitation. Also treated by some prosthodontists are maxillofacial trauma or diseases such as cleft lip/palate, genetic syndromes/disorders, oral or facial cancer prostheses, radiation and chemotherapy management of the oral cavity, or traumas such as motor vehicle accidents and sports injuries.

Public Health Dentistry
Dental public health is the science and art of preventing and controlling dental diseases and promoting dental health through organized community efforts. It is that form of dental practice which serves the community as a patient rather than the individual.  It is concerned with the dental education of the public with applied dental research, and with the administration of group dental care programs as well as the prevention and control of dental diseases on a community basis.
